Quality bloodlines and optimal market trends have nearly doubled sale results at last week's 45th annual Rockhampton Brangus Sale, CQLX Gracemere.
This year's sale saw 46 studs from Queensland and three from NSW achieve a sale record average of $14,637 for bulls and a record gross of $2.923 million across the board, up by a strong $1.453m on last year's result.
The impressive result was welcomed by Australian Brangus society president Brad Saunders, Pheasant Creek Brangus stud of Wowan.

Mr Saunders said better seasonal conditions were evident in the impressive draft of Brangus bulls and females offered this year.
"It was a very strong sale and it's comparable to the best, most even run of bulls that we've ever had before at this sale," Mr Saunders said.
"Breeders are taking advantage of Queensland's strong cattle market at the moment, and there were several high priced bulls recorded.
"With the feeder market getting stronger and stronger all the time, graziers are starting to move towards Brangus and Ultrablack cattle, which are definitely preferred for the feeder job."
