Kicking off the official side of proceedings at the Rockhampton Brangus Sale was the registered female section.
In all, 30 heifers sold to $14,000 to average $6400 on the way to attaining an 81 per cent clearance at auction.
Sectional topper was the $14,000 Yaraandoo Dillon. The 10-month-old daughter of Bonox 999 is from a Charlevue Andy dam and was purchased by Janet Newlands, Eden Hills stud, Pilton.
Acting through Les Lee, Leegra Fitting, Murgon, Ms Newlands purchased two for on average $10,500. Yaraandoo principal John Collins, Gogango, attained a $9333 average for his trio.
Next best at $11,000 was Bonox B1300. Catalogued by Taroom breeders Bruce and Leanne Woodard, Bonox stud, the 15-month-old daughter of Bonox Mick sold to Three Hearts stud, Cressbrook, operated by Tammy and Jane Robinson.
The heifer carried a positive test to the eventual sale topper, the $80,000 Bonox 1251 (Regret).
Three Hearts stud also secured the $10,000 Bonox B1335, a yearling granddaughter of the former ABCA Sale topper in Charlevue Centre Time.
Bonox averaged $8600 for their five with the result including the $10,000 Bonox B1317 (10-months) selling to Jack Salisbury, Bimbadeen J stud, Eidsvold, and the $10,000 Bonox B1355 also going to the Three Hearts stud.
Jardine Annie 1903 sold for $10,500. Offered by Jardine district breeders Dave and Kay Franks, Jardine stud, the 11-month-old sold to Mark and Amanda Salisbury, Bimbadeen stud, Eidsvold.
Jason Jeynes and Julie Sheehan, Kraken stud, Dalma, secured the $8000 maiden, Sandy Banks Ruby Rebecca (Bindaree 0707) (12-months).
Catalogued by Shane and Angela Jackson, Sandy Banks stud, Tiaro, the team of two from the prefix averaged $7000.
Sale openers Brad and Vicki Hanson, Bullakeana stud, Moura, sold a pair for a $6500 average, topping at $7000 for daughters of Punchagin Major.
A pair from the Bullakeana IH prefix, also daughters of Major, sold to average $3750.
Dennis Jackson's Stutzview stud, Owanyilla, sold six to a top of $7000 to set a $4667 average. Top for the prefix was another of the daughters of Bindaree 0707.
Rodney and Karen Johannesen, Folkslee stud, Brooweena, took with them a $5000 average for their six.
These topped at $8000 for the 14-month-old Folkslee R 438 by Bonox 1031.The proceeds for the sale of the heifer were donated to RACQ Life Flight Rescue.
Others investing in the Folkslee draft were the Night stud, Taroom, the Glenoyra stud, Oakey, and the Benarla stud, Taroom.
The only red entry, Burrumbush Peg (11-months) made $7000. Catalogued by Goovigen breeders Tim and Rebekah Dwyer, Burrumbush stud, the heifer sold to Jack and Mim Walker, Jateebee stud, Theodore.
