Australian family-owned Great Western Corporation has been one of nations leaders in offering a vast range of services consisting of component manufacture, light to medium metal fabrication and assembly to customers Australia-wide for close to 80 years, through its various divisions.
With its manufacturing plant situated at the crossroads of Queensland's regional road network in Toowoomba - located 120km west of Brisbane - Great Western Manufacturing, Great Western Corporation's manufacturing arm, can be easily accessed by road, rail and air, including the nearby Wellcamp Airport.
Great Western Manufacturing general manager Stewart Kings said the company enjoys strong support for its established Excel Agriculture and Gyral Implements range of machinery across Australia, but especially on the eastern seaboard.
"Great Western Corporation purchased these brands as a way to value add to the existing products and services the company had available through sister divisions AgPoint and Great Western Tillage. Excel was acquired close to 26 years ago and Gyral was purchased in 2014," Mr Kings said.
He said the Gyral and Excel brands allow Great Western Corporation to offer its customers a complete suite of agricultural machinery to meet their row crop, broadacre, spreading, and fertilising requirements.
"Excel is a market leader in the supply and support of agricultural machinery to the row crop and broadacre farming industries, supplying customers with a range of no-till and zero till planters and seeders, as well as as cultivators and fertiliser rigs.
"The Excel seeder range includes single disc, tined machines that suit a range of soil conditions and crop types.
"Our machines are successfully working in a diverse selection of crops, including wheat, cotton, corn, peas, beans, canola, all cereals, sorghum and many other broadacre and row crops."
Mr Kings said the ability to direct drill crops into stubble and all soil types from Tasmania to North Queensland is one of the key advantages of using an Excel disc seeder.
"These machines are well-built with low maintenance service points to provide customers with a product that will last for many years."
He said the Gyral brand is universally recognised as having developed the modern day air seeder.
"We can tailor Gyral products to suit individual requirements, including the choice of variable rate drive or ground drive so customers can adapt their load fill in the air seeder. We can also isobus it to the existing system in their tractor to streamline the process allowing the air seeder to be driven without additional technology.
"While the Gyral Air Seeder is the pinnacle of the brands achievements, we also manufacture a complete range of Gyral-branded broadacre products to suit industry needs, including fertiliser and manure spreaders, a leucaena planter and more."
Since both brands were incorporated into Great Western Corporation, the highly experienced and long standing staff at Great Western Manufacturing have added their personal touch to the product range.
"From steels to wheels and tyres to hubs, we're manufacturing products for both brands with common parts so they can be used together easily. We also manufacture a large range of spare parts for both brands as a major part of our business is backup service and repairs."
Mr Kings said Great Western Corporation manufactures products designed to specifically meet the demands of those working in the Australian agricultural industry.
"Where we start with a product design, and where we end up with are two different things. We listen to feedback from our customers and build from there.
"Great Western Corporation is committed to the Australian farming community. The company has invested in the agricultural business themselves and know first-hand what is required to make machinery run reliably in our harsh conditions.
"The main strength of the business is its longevity and ownership by the Anderson family for close to eight decades. This stability provides our customers with piece of mind in knowing that Great Western Corporation will be there for them now and into the future."
