NSM cows and calves averaged $3330/hd, back $652/hd. A line of Hereford/Angus cows from Wandoan aged two to 11 years weighing an average of 531kg liveweight returned $3120/hd. The line of 32 cows will travel to Guyra, NSW.
PTIC cows averaged $2646/hd, an increase of $372/hd. A line of 18 Brangus cows from Upper Yarraman aged five to nine years weighing 571kg returned $2700/hd and will travel to Silverdale.
PTIC heifers averaged $2381/hd, an increase of $158/hd. A line of 16 Angus heifers from Moonie aged 20 to 22 months weighing 439kg returned $2520/hd and will travel to a buyer in Miles.
Heifers weighing between 200-280kg averaged 604c, up 29c. A line of nine to 12-month-old heifers from Goondiwindi weighing 250kg liveweight returned 697c.
Heifers weighing between 280-330kg averaged 576c, up 5c. A line of 84 Droughtmaster backgrounder heifers from Talwood aged 12 to 16 months weighing 284kg liveweight returned 564c and will travel to Pallamallawa, NSW.
Weaner steers weighing between 200-280kg averaged 643c, up 29c. The top priced line went to a run of 120 Angus backgrounder steers from St George aged five to eight months weighing 238kg. The steers returned 860c and will travel to Texas.
Steers weighing over 400kg sold 8c dearer to average 538c. From St George, 182 head split across two even lines of Santa Gertrudis steers aged 11 to 16 months returned 592c. The steers weigh an average of 401kg liveweight and will travel to Lavington, NSW.
SHEEP
Queensland sheep numbers were back by 3197 head last week as the state offered a total of 3078 head online.
Shedding breed lambs sold from $133 to $618/hd to average $364/hd, $84 less than the previous week. A line of 525 White Dorper Mar/Apr '21 drop lambs from Charleville weighing 34kg returned $177/hd and will travel to Kogan.
Crossbred lambs held firm, with prices easing $1 to average $163/hd or 488c lwt. A line of 442 Merino/White Suffolk lambs of Apr/Jun '21 drop from Talwood weighing 33kg returned $165/hd or 506c. The lambs will travel to Orange, NSW.
