Record averages, breed records and a complete clearance were just some of the features at Monday's annual 5 Star Senepol sale, CQLX, Gracemere.
Averages values climbed by $2984 over the previous year's result resulting in yet another complete clearance for vendors Geoff and Alison Maynard and family, 5 Star stud, Jambin.
Since the 2019 sale, bottom line averages have climbed by $6832 per head.
In a breakdown of the offering, 51 Senepols averaged $15,765 topping at $40,000, and eight Senepol/Belmont bulls sold to $22,000 to average $11,000.
Seven Senegus set a $12,080 average to top at $19,000, while seven Senepol/Charolais bulls made to $11,000 to average $9143.
In all, 73 bulls set an overall average of $14,257.
Topping proceedings and setting a new breed record at $40,000 was 5 Star 201019 (PP).
The 22-month-old, double poll entry, with a weight of 752 kilograms scanned 10mm and 8mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 135 square centimetres for eye muscle area, and 5.7 per cent for intramuscular fat.
The record breaker sold to repeat client Chris Simpson, CAP Genomics, Harlin.
CAP Genomics took three to average them $26,333. Contained within the selections was the top seller in the Senepol/Belmont section, 5 Star 200856 (23-months) for $22,000.
In a dominant display of demand for the product on offer, Western Australian based Liveringa Station Beef Pty Ltd, Liveringa Station, Derby, took 22 Senepol bulls, or 43pc of the offering, for on average $16,455.
The top acquisition for Liveringa at $30,000 was the 23-month-old, 5 Star 200095 weighing 676kg, scanned 10mm and 7mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 112sq cm for EMA, and 5.1pc for IMF.
Alister and Jo McClymont, Burleigh Station, Richmond, returned and took three Senepol to average them $29,167.
Top of their selections was the 23-month-old, 5 Star 200730 (PP) with a weight of 776kg, scanned 13mm and 10mm, respectively, for P8 and rib fat, 134sq cm for EMA, and 6.1pc for IMF.

Heart 2J Cattle Company, Emerald, accounted for eight to average them $10,125, topping at $13,000 for a 20-month-old Senepol entry.
Mick and Karen Nobbs, Mt Vexation, Springsure, were another returning client, to sign off on four to average them $13,000 topping at $18,000 for a 25-month-old Senegus bull.
Top seller of the Senegus section at $19,000 went to Des Coupe and Jenny Newton, Moura, who ended with two to average $19,000 with the other purchase a Senepol entry with the highest IMF recording of 6.4pc.
Andrew and Priscilla Wedel, Zarpt Farming Company, Muidart Station, Dysart, selected seven from all sections of the catalogue for on average $7857 topping at $12,000 for a Senepol/Angus bull.
