Females were in demand at Woodford on Monday.

There were 244 head sold at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. The market for all descriptions remained strong, with females in demand.

Ian and Esther Livingstone, Kurwongba, sold Murray Grey yearling steers for $1900. Cody Hennessey, Moorina, sold Santa steers for $1870. John Chambers, Neurum, sold Santa cows for $1820 and a pen of weaner heifers for $1295. Ken Klein, Cedarton, sold a pen of Charbray heifers with young calves at foot, for $2680.

C and E Surch, Hunchy, sold a line of light Angus cross weaner steers for $1340 and lines of two and four-tooth backgrounder heifers for $1500 and $1450. Lewington Rural, Mt Mee, sold Droughtmaster cows for $1890. Darcia Keen, Mt Kilcoy, sold Charbray weaners seven to nine months, with males making $1315 and heifers $1370.

Hanton Family, Kilcoy, sold Droughtmaster cows for $1710 and young weaners, with steers making $1390 and heifers $1310. Simon and Tanya Bechly, Winya, sold Charbray cows for $1640 and Brahman cross steers calves for $1230. Les Little, Harlin, sold Santa weaner steers for $1360. Oakwood Machinery & Livestock, Mt Kilcoy, sold Brangus weaner steers for $1460. Ray McSweeny, Woodford, sold a pen of Droughtmaster heifers, four to five months, for $1160.

Melissa Thornton, Harlin, sold a line of Euro weaner heifers for $1295. Rogers Egg Supplies, Maleny, sold a pen of Droughtmaster store cows for $1500. Terry Woods, Mt Beerwah, sold a pen of Charbray heifer calves for $945. Anthony Klein, Woodford, sold Angus cross steers, six months, for $1200. Kevin McSweeny, Woodford, sold Brahman backgrounder steers for $1550.
