Replacement breeders were in high demand at Friday's Toogoolawah store sale.

Shepherdson and Boyd yarded 860 head of cattle at Friday's Toogoolawah store sale. The market remained strong with replacement breeders in high demand. Feeder steers and heifers sold to a dearer market as numbers tighten. The backgrounder market was fully firm with plenty of competition from southern buyers.

Heavy feeder steers account Frank Patrick, Kilcoy, sold for $2440/hd. L and C Clifford, Monto, sold Santa cross steers 20mths old for $2260/hd, $2120/hd. A and H Clifford, Monto, sold trade Santa cross steers for $1990/hd. Tancred Management, Lacey's Creek, sold four-tooth feeder steers for $2390/hd and two-tooth feeder steers $2170/hd.

R and S Read, Mundubbera, sold Droughtmaster cross trade feeder steers for $2000/hd. P and R O'Brien, Gayndah, sold Red Brangus steers 16-18 months for $1910/hd. The Eggleston Family, Toogoolawah, sold quality Charolais cross steers 18 months old for $1960/hd and $1920/hd. L and E Golinski, Colinton, sold 14 to 16-month-old Charolais cross steers for $1920/hd.

Rivermead P/L, Fernvale, sold Charolais cross weaner steers for $1690/hd. Seven Bar Dot P/Ship, Conondale, sold quality Charolais cross light weaner steers for $1490/hd. L and S Tinny, Toogoolawah, sold light Charolais cross weaner steers for $1440 and Droughtmaster weaner steers for $1480/hd.

The Eggleston family, Toogoolawah, sold Charolais cross heifers 18 to 20 months for $2030 and $1990/hd. P and R O'Brien sold trade feeder heifers $1900/hd.

A line of Brahman cross pregnancy tested in-calf cows from Goondiwindi sold for $2040, $2000, and $1980/hd. Droughtmaster cows PTIC from Peachester sold for $2000/hd.
