A vast variety of top-notch genetics will be available for purchase when the 14th annual Central Brangus Classic takes place at CQLX, Gracemere, on Friday September 24, from 8am.
Sale committee spokesperson Duncan Geddes said 113 lots, including 100 registered and herd bulls and 13 heifers have been selected by 16 vendors, from Central Queensland and the surrounding region, for the 2021 catalogue.
"Producers who've received a break in the season this year are looking for females. It was with this demand in mind that we decided to introduce the heifer section for the sale this year," Mr Geddes said.
He said very even lines of bulls have been drafted for the 2021 sale.
"There will be bulls suitable for commercial and stud producers, with budgets large or small.
"The vendors firmly focussed on conformation, weight for age and doability when selecting their sale teams. Most of the vendors also run commercial Brangus herds thereby ensuring that the bulls and heifers they'll be offering will meet the requirements and specifications of marketability through impressive carcase traits.
"All lots being made available are adapted to suit Central Queensland's climatic conditions, meaning they'll be able to perform immediately for producers that live in the region, who traditionally form the bulk of the buyer panel in attendance each year."
Mr Geddes said the vendors are hoping to build on the solid result achieved for the 2020 sale, where 87 bulls sold to average an excellent $10,413, topping at $40,000, with 98 per cent of the draft being cleared.
"While the weather continues to be patchy around the region, we're all for the most part faring better than we were in 2019. The improved conditions, combined with the draft catalogued for the sale, has the vendors feeling optimistic that last year's strong buyer interest will be repeated."
All sale lots will be penned for inspection by noon on Thursday, September 23.
All bulls will be weighed and EMA scanned, and a supplementary sheet will be made available on sale day.
Those who're unable to attend in person on the day, can livestream the sale action and bid on their desired lots by utilising the Stocklive online platform.
