A sensibly prepared, quality draft of 44 Classifier Approved bulls have been selected for the Wandoan Santa Gertrudis Bull Sale being held at the Wandoan Showgrounds from 11am on Monday, September 20.

Sale group president Jamie Becker said the combined draft is 80 per cent polled or polled/scurred.

"These bulls have been bred with commercial production requirements firmly in mind. They were selected for their quietness, fertility, adequate growth/muscle and ability to finish," Mr Becker said.

He said said the sale has continually held appeal due to the quality bulls offered annually consistently being attainable at affordable prices.

"The local support for the sale is something we're all grateful for. 75pc of the bulls usually sell within a 150km radius of Wandoan."

Mr Becker said the 2020 sale result was pleasing with 36 bulls selling to average $7888, for a top of $17,500, with a 92pc clearance rate achieved.

"This year a similar lineup of evenly prepared bulls, that will suit the requirements of most commercial operations, will be offered."

He said all lots being offered have been vaccinated for 7-in-1, 3 Day, 3 Germ, Vibrio, and have Pestivirus tested negative.

"They've all passed a bull breeding soundness examination conducted by a registered veterinarian, and have been semen morphology tested.

"Each vendor will have their bulls scanned prior to the sale by a certified scanning technician for eye muscle area, rump and rib fat, marbling (IMF percentage). These results will be available on a supplementary sheet to be made available on sale day."

The bulls can be viewed at the showgrounds from 2pm on Sunday, September 19, and they'll be penned first thing on sale day morning. Pre-sale inspections are welcomed by the vendors via appointment.

Those who're unable to attend the sale can livestream and bid on the day through the AuctionsPlus online platform.

The vendors are offering free delivery of bulls purchased to Roma, Meandarra, Goondiwindi, Theodore, Taroom, Moura, Dalby, Eidsvold, Warwick, Toowoomba, Wandoan and local areas.

The sale catalogue is now online on the TopX, Nutrien and SGBAA websites. To request a hard copy please call these businesses or send a message on the Wandoan sale Facebook page.
