The Mount Isa Mines Rodeo is well and truly underway, with day one of the action attracting plenty of spectators to Buchanan Park in Queensland's north west.
Friday's morning program included everything from the ladies barrel racing to the junior steer ride, team roping, rope and tie and the ladies breakaway tie.
After lunch the focus turned to the breakaway roping, junior barrel race, poddy calf ride and the second division bull ride.
After dinner tonight the novelty events will be held before the official opening at 6.30pm.
Once the first section of the open bull ride wraps up at 9.45pm, the first night of entertainment will begin with Casey Barnes and Sheppard set to step on stage.
