A truck carrying fertiliser has caught fire on the Moonie highway about 30 kilometres east of St George in the states south.
The incident is believed to have occurred at around 11.30pm last night.
Emergency services attended the fire last night and commenced clean up.
The Moonie Highway east of St George has since been re-opened following the incident, however traffic has been reduced to one lane only and and Police have been directing traffic.
It is not yet known when the highway will be re-opening to both lanes of traffic.
Once clean up is complete the state of the roadway will be assessed and further direction will be provided.
