Demand remained firm with strong buyer competition however overall prices eased for steers and heifers with the exception of light weight yearling steers and medium weight yearling heifers, while heavy weight prime cows improved.
Light weight yearling steers under 200kg improved by 115c and medium weight yearling steers fell by 8c to 10c/kg. The lead of the heavy weight yearling steers to feed fell by 19c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg to feed improved by 12c to 14c/kg. Medium weight 4 score prime cows improved by 7c while the heavy weight cows improved by 3c to 6c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers under 200kg to restockers sold to 698c to average 665c/kg. The largest sample of light weight yearling steers under 280kg to restockers made to 656c, while medium weight yearling steers under 330kg to restockers sold to 662c to average 568c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 400kg to feed made to 600c to average 515c while heavy weight yearling steers over 400kg to feed reached a top of 516c to average 480c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to a top of 644c, while the largest sample of light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers made to 612c to average 544c/kg.
