The supply of stock increased by 39 head to 268 at the Toowoomba sale and included in the lineup were 25 head of mixed sex young light weight cattle.
Buyer attendance was good with one additional operator in the heavy weight feeder section, plus a large line up of restockers. All classes experienced very strong support with only quality related price changes in places.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 596c to average 550c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 510c to 515c with the occasional sale to 580c. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed were well supplied and made to a top of 548c to average 494c with some returning $2704/head.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 514c to average 504c, while those to feed averaged from 466c to 481c and sold to a top of 510c. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 480c. Medium and heavy weight grown steers to feed made to 456c to average 451c and 456c respectively.
A couple of good heavy weight cows sold to 302c. Heavy weight bulls also made to 302c.
Best lightweight bulls a/c Stuart Timms, Pittsworth, sold to 363c. Santa and Charolais cross heavy feeder steers a/c G and B Suhr sold to 488c for an average of $2248 with the top pen reaching $2703.
Trade weight feeder steers a/c Malcolm Hosking, Emu Creek, sold to 548c to return $2439 with trade weight heifers from the same vendor reaching 510c, returning $2069.
Lightweight Angus heifers a/c D T White reached 512c with the steer portion topping at 598c.
