With the return of one major processor prices lifted on the export cattle penned. All the usual feeder and restockers were active on any replacement stock alongside a large panel of onlookers keen to watch the spirited bidding.
Light weight yearling steers under 280kg returning to the paddock averaged 589c and sold to 650c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made 528c to average 495c/kg. A good sample of heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to 548c and averaged 491c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers sold to 592c/kg. Yearling heifers in the 200-280kg range returning to the paddock averaged 526c and sold to 580c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market made to 498c and averaged 476c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers also to feed averaged 458c and made to 476c/kg.
Grown steers to processors made to 390c and averaged 373c/kg. Heavy bullocks to processors sold 357c/kg. Grown heifers to the whole sale meat trade averaged 359c and sold to 370c/kg. Light weight cows to restockers made to 294c/kg. Well finished score 4 cows to export processors averaged 324c and made to 329c/kg. Good heavy bulls sold to 314c/kg.
