Numbers reduced by 102 head to 472 at Warwick. Steady rain continued to fall during the sale lifting prices of the quality lines of restocker cattle on offer. All the regular export processors were present and operating along with the usual feeder operators alongside local and interstate restockers.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock were dearer by 17c/kg. Yearling heifers were up by 16c. Export bullocks and cows were firm on last week's sale.
A good sample of yearling steers in the 200-280kg range returned to the paddock at an average of 559c and sold to a top of 626c. Yearling steers over 330kg to feed sold to 508c to average 474c. Heavy weight yearling steers over 400kg to feed made 483c to average 425c.
Yearling heifers 200-280kg returning to the paddock averaged 503c and sold to 550c. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market averaged 457c and sold to a top of 479c. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed sold to 466c and averaged 418c.
Bullocks to processors averaged 360c selling to 364c. Fat score 2 and 3 cows to restockers sold to 289c with good heavy weight cows to processors averaging 294c achieving a top price of 307c. Heavy bulls made to 314c.
