There were 245 head sold Monday at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale on Monday. A good line-up of cattle saw the weaner market very strong with terrific results for vendors.
John Harrison, Jimna, sold a pen of Droughtmaster cows for $1600. Carla Vener, Mooloolah, sold a line of Droughtmaster heifers for $1420. MR Friedrich, Toogoolawah, sold a pen of Droughtmaster cross weaner steers for $1360. Cody Hennessey, Moorina, sold a line of Charbray backgrounder steers for $1505 and Charbray male calves for $1240.
Skinneal Pastoral, Colinton, sold a line of Charbray steers, six to seven months, for $1300. J and E Pratton, Kilcoy, sold Simmental and Angus calves, with steers making $1285 and $1270 and heifers $1115. Eden Park Australia, Kurwongbah, sold Droughtmaster weaners for $1375 and calves for $1210. Mineral Properties, Moore, sold Senepol cross weaner steers for $1360.
Dodd Surgical, Witta, sold Droughtmaster heifers for $1400. Gary Pratten, Kilcoy, sold six-month-old Charbray steers for $1285. Frank Kermeci, Stanmore, sold Limousin weaners, with steers selling for $1360 and heifers $1255, feeder steers for $1890 and pens of cows for $1500 and $1450. J and E Tones, Kilcoy, sold as line of Droughtmaster weaner steers for $1260. Craig Jackson, Mt Kilcoy, sold six to seven-month-old Charbray steers for $1390.
