The Northern Beef Producers Expo committee are thrilled to be well underway in the organisation of the ever popular Commercial Cattle Competition and Presentation Dinner.

Introduced to the event program in 2018 the competition allows graziers in the north of Australia to showcase their best commercial cattle and be in the running for excellent prize money for their efforts followed by a presentation dinner on the Friday evening.

In 2019 the competition saw more than 100 nominations from vendors across the north resulting in 450 head of good quality cattle on display for the sale which follows.

Competition steward, Bill Holzwart said on the back of an exceptionally good season across most of north Queensland and never before seen cattle prices, this years event could possibly be the biggest one yet.

"Past vendors are keen to showcase what a terrific season and their hard work with cattle genetics has done for their herd in this terrific competition," Mr Holzwart said.

"We would like to take the opportunity to thank our competition sponsors for support and generosity; WD & KM Appleton, Triple C Beef, Dalrymple Landcare, Minjar Gold, Nutrien Ag, Hillside Droughtmasters, Lisgar Droughtmasters, Australian Brahman Breeders Association, Mt Douglas Pastoral, GI Brahmans and Appleton Cattle Co," he said.
