THE Northern Beef Producers Expo (NBPE) is back.
The action will unfold at the Charters Towers Saleyards and equestrian centre from June on the 4-6.
Northern Beef Producers Inc chairman Dudley Leggett said the disappointment of cancelling 2020 event because of the COVID-19 pandemic was in the past.
Mr Leggett said the committee had worked hard to put together a massive program with plenty to see and do for the whole family.
"We have bought back all the old favourites such as the working cattle dog trials, commercial cattle competition and awards dinner, extensive trade exhibition and stud cattle displays," he said.
"As always, there are a couple of exciting new additions to this year's program with Meat and Livestock Australia holding a BeefUp Forum during the event as well as family entertainment being provided by First Light Entertainment who have not yet been to any events in Charters Towers."
Since it's humble origins in 2015, the NBPE has advanced and Mr Leggett confessed his "young committee" was always looking to improve and build on previous years.
"We have learnt a lot over the years developing a program and event that is specific and relevant to our Northern beef industry.
"The focus has always been on bringing new technologies to the forefront and providing an opportunity for producers in the North to see and learn about these innovations in their own backyard."
The inclusion of the working cattle dog trials and commercial cattle competition was a huge period of growth for the event.
"Our attendance increases with each event, showing more and more support for the concept as it slowly cements its spot as a must do on the Northern calendar," he added.
Mr Leggett said the event was only possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors,
"As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely heavily on the ongoing commitment of sponsors to help bring this event together," he explained.
"We once again sincerely thank those who continue to show faith in our committee and also extend a warm welcome to the new businesses coming on board in 2021.
"MLA has supported the NBPE numerous times in the past and we are thrilled to have them back in 2021 as event Gold sponsor.
"We also welcome Nutrien Ag Solutions Charters Towers branch, Minjar Gold, NTP Forklifts and Willoughby Rural as our Silver sponsors."
Mr Leggett hopes the "decent seasonal conditions" and "excellent cattle market" encourages many people to come along and enjoy what is set to be an exciting couple of days in the north.
