The Santa Gertrudis ring was surrounded with spectators on Wednesday morning, enjoying a full morning of judging after the unseasonal morning fog burned off.
They were treated to a display of 96 entries with wins shared between Diamond H, Santahat, Wellbatch, Nioa, Bullamakinka, Waco, Moongana, Rosehill and BYAC studs.
Santa Gertrudis Association general manager Chris Todd said the depth and quality of the showing was very pleasing, considering many thought the event was in danger of being cancelled due to pandemic restrictions.
He called for a minute's silence mid-morning to pay tribute to members who have passed away, including Sir William Allen, Forest Park stud, Blackall, Augathella's Ashley McKay, and Jeanette Smith, Barraba stud, Quorrobolong, NSW.
