Goondiwindi based Yagaburne Poll Herefords came away with top honours of junior and grand champion Hereford/Poll Hereford bull under judge Martin Lill, Coonabarabran, NSW and associate judge Riley Jensen, Yeppoon.
Yagaburne Quest Q643 was the eye-catching young bull that stole the show at 20 months of age. He was sired by Supple Lawless out of Yagaburne Mischief G937, and weighed 830 kilograms with an eye muscle are of 117 square centimetres and fats of 12 millimetres on the rib and 16mm on the rump.
Senior and grand champion female went to the recent Sydney Royal Show supreme Hereford exhibit, Wirruna Golden Vanity M261, exhibited by JTR Cattle Co, Roslyn, NSW and Tobruk Poll Herefords, Wagga Wagga, NSW.
A rising five-year-old female she was by Wirruna Kelso K23 and out of Wirruna Golden Vanity K546, and showed with a seven-month-old heifer calf at foot.
Twenty six animals represented the breed with calf champion female awarded Kalara Miss Charm R001, and reserve to Jarrah Britisher R319. Junior champion female was Amos-Vale Lioness 26 Q026 with reserve to Amos-Vale PR Royal 319 Q046, both exhibited by Amos-Vale Herefords, Glen Innes, NSW. Reserve senior female was Mickey Mouse Lady Alice 604.
Senior bull was Braeyln Advance P120 while reserve was Jarrah Anzac H006 Q090. Reserve junior bull was Yagaburne Quincy Q684.
