A big crowd was on hand at the Barcaldine racecourse on Saturday afternoon for the staging of the Pat Ogden family Tree of Knowledge Cup.
Underscoring the significance of the weekend commemorating the 130th anniversary of the Great Shearers' Strike of 1891, Light Horse troops from around Australia delivered the cup from the Australian Workers Heritage Centre to the racecourse grounds.
It was presented by Racing Minister Grace Grace and Sports Minister Stirling Hichliffe to Blackall's Pam Carolan after a great win in the 1600m race by Sizzalating.
