A pilot has been killed in a light plane crash, south west of Charters Towers on Friday.
Raymond Williams, 74, was the pilot and sole occupant of the Van's RV-7 aircraft, when it crashed at Campaspe, 90km south of Charters Towers near Doyles Dam. He was conducting a flight from Winton to Bowen.
Mr Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation will be carried out by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
