There was no trouble in paradise for Bryony Puddicombe and her trusted horse CD Catt , who both took home the Joseph Acton Rosebowl Champion of Champions title and trophy at this year's annual Paradise Lagoons Campdraft event held over the weekend.
The four-day competition attracted strong competition from across the country, with more than 200 competitors vying for more than $100,000 prize money and trophies.
To get a berth into the Champions of Champions final, Bryony and CD Catt earlier won the prestigious Mort & Co/Wilangi Ladies Draft final.
The ladies final was certainly a nail biting finish, with just one point separating Bryony who scored 179 points and second place winner Susan Salmond on Letstree Jekabelle, who only scored 178 points.
All though numbers were down as a casuality of Covid-19, President of the Paradise Lagoons campdrafting committee, Tom Acton, said the qaulity of campdrafting was exceptional.
"It was great event, the weather was perfect all weekend," Mr Acton said.
"The great line of cattle were great and which were from Evan and Kim Acton from Mountain View, and also Mark and Belinda Wilson from Banana Station.
Mr Acton paid tribute to the volunteers who helped put together the four-day event, which attracted over 200 competitors, and about 900 first round runs.
"There was some really good campdrafting and we had a live band and a lot of people out from Rockhampton and far on Friday and Saturday night," he said.
"Obviously we weren't back at the capacity we usually are without social events, but it didn't have any impact much on the quality of campdrafting.
"We'll rebuild it and hopefully be back for our 20th year in 2022 for Paradise Lagoons and we'll have a bigger and better event, and hopefully we can get back to another great successful event."
