MUNGALLALA property Boxgrove has sold at an MAA Livestock and Real Estate auction for $1.31 million.
Boxgrove was offered by Helen Sallway and bought by local landholders Pod and Libby Hanley.
Located 3km north of Mungallala on the Redford Road, covers 944 hectares (2333 acres) including 800ha behind an exclusion fence.
The sale price is equal to about $1387/ha ($561/acre).
The property consists of predominantly red loam soils, which were originally timbered with box and cypress Pine. There is scattered timber providing adequate shade.
There is also some lower country along the Mungallala Creek.
Boxgrove has been established to buffel grass, with some natural native grasses. There is 24ha of cultivation previously used for oats.
The carrying capacity is estimated at 150 cows or 300 dry cattle.
Improvements include a renovated 1960s home in an established garden, sheds, and steel cattle yards.
Water is supplied from a bore, nine dams, and semi-permanent water holes along the Mungallala Creek.
The marketing of Boxgrove was handled by Seamus Filan from MAA Livestock and Real Estate, Roma.
