There was a yarding of 291 at Warwick.

Numbers improved slightly to 291 head at Warwick on Tuesday.

Only a small panel of export buyers was present and operating. Most of the regular feeder operators were present along with a good line-up of local and interstate restockers. Buyers were very active on any of the quality lines of feeder and restocker steers and heifers, any price changes were quality related with buyers selective in their purchases.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made 571c and averaged 556c/kg. Yearling steers in 330-400kg range to feed for the domestic market averaged 460c and sold to 497c/kg, with heavy yearling feeder steers making 450c to average 425c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers to restockers sold to 560c/kg. Heifers to feed for the domestic market averaged 466c and sold to 471c/kg. Heavy heifers to the wholesale meat trade made 420c/kg. A handful of grown heifers sold to processors for 378c/kg.

Only a small number of cows penned with the best heavy score 3 cows to 298c/kg. Heavy weight bulls to processors made to 300c/kg.
