Beef and wool producer Roderick Taylor, Adgingbong, reckons he is feeling ecstatic this week thanks to good rain falling over his property, situated east of Cunnamulla.
Mr Taylor, who has battled the drought since 2013 has received 145 millimetres since the new year.
"This week I received 36mm, plus another good cloud burst lasting for 10 minutes giving another 12mm, making a total of 50mm for the week," he said.
"Since 2013, I have been sending both sheep an cattle on agistment anywhere I could find grass, including NSW."
Mr Taylor said the agistment dried up in 2018 and he had no other choice but to bring his stock home.
"We pushed mulga and hand fed until we got more agistment for cattle locally," he said.
"I am now trying to spell the country and rejuvenate the grass I have on the ground for the first time in nearly eight years."
Other good falls this week in the south west include 70mm at Mt Howitt Station, Eromanga, while Naryilco Station, located in the Channel Country, received 39mm.
