Numbers remained virtually unchanged at Warwick with agents penning 759 head. Most of the export processors were present and operating along with the regular feeder buyers and local and interstate restockers.
With isolated falls of rain in the district, the demand for quality restocker cattle increased which saw prices improve on several lines. However, feeder steers eased in price for most weight categories.
Yearling steers under 200kg sold to 734c with a large sample in the 200 - 280kg range selling to 670c and averaging 554c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market eased by 14c to average 422c and sold to 454c/kg.
A good sample of light weight yearling heifers to processors made to 459c and averaged 434c/kg. Restocker yearling heifers made 614c and averaged 498c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market remained unchanged averaging 423c and made to 440c/kg.
Grown steers to processors made to 358c/kg. Light weight cows returning to the paddock averaged 309c and sold to 328c/kg. Good heavy cows to export processors made 296c to average 291c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 326c/kg.
