Dirranbandi received it's best rainfall in years on Thursday as heavy showers and thunder storms brought 59mm to the region according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
It's the best rainfall the border town has received since 2016 with more rain possible over the weekend.
Dirranbandi graziers Martin and Karen Sullivan shared their drenched 200 hectare oat paddock to Facebook, and said they recorded 87mm on their Tooroora property.
"It's the most amount of rain in one rain event we've seen in years," Mr Sullivan said.
"It felt pretty bloody good, we can finally plant a few oats and get some grass country going.
"We can plant some oats now and that will just add to the profile when we plant wheat a little later on."
Miegunyah veterinarian Libby Egan said her family property received 79 mm, just north of Dirranbandi.
"It was probably the biggest fall we've had in nine years," she said.
Last year's dry conditions prevented the family from planting a summer crop, Ms Egan said that prior to the rainfall there were concerns they would miss out on a winter crop too.
"It was looking a bit grim," she said.
"We're expecting it to put moisture in the ground for a winter crop."
"Before this we were starting to wonder what La Nina was. We were feeling ripped off before last night."
