Years of experience in offering speedway racing around Australia will go into Roma's newest festival attraction, the Road to Roma Australian country music festival.
Club Hotel publicans Barry and Felicity Waldron came up with the idea to fill what they see as a tourism void in the region, and to make use of their entertainment knowledge.
"We used to travel all round Australia doing events," Ms Waldron said.
"I've never spent as much time in one place as I have for the last nine months.
"I want to be entertained and I'm sure others do too."
The two-day festival, running from 1-8pm each day on March 6-7, will take place in the carpark at the Club Hotel and be streamed through the whole venue, which includes a beer garden and sports bar.
It will make use of the Waldrons' stage and 20m screen.
The name, Road to Roma, is aimed at bringing visitors to the region, Ms Waldron said.
"It's for people out of the region as much as it is for locals," she said, adding that it should fit well with the Roma Picnic Races on March 26-27 and the Easter in the Country festival from April 1-5.
"We're saying to people, come for a couple of weeks and enjoy the whole experience," she said. "After all, where else are you going to go. You can't go to Bali."
Headlining the event is hot new band, Darlinghurst.
It's been a huge 18 months for the Melbourne quartet with their first four singles all hitting number one on the charts and scoring their first Golden Guitar nomination for New Talent of the Year.
Also appearing is Andrew Swift, a two-time Golden Guitar Award winner, and Jayne Denham, who had a breakout year in 2020 thanks to her huge hit Porch Party featuring Jasmine Rae and Amber Lawrence.
Ben Ransom's star continues to shine thanks to his latest single, Raise Some Hell while Bec Lavelle is best known as 'the voice of McLeod's Daughters', having recorded all the vocals for the beloved Australian TV series.
Melody Moko and Angus Gill are both fresh off the back of numerous ARIA chart positions for their respective albums.
Melody has received three Golden Guitar Award nominations for her latest album, Two Kids and A Radio - Alternative Country Album of The Year, Female Artist and Best New Talent.
Angus on the other hand picked up two nominations for Group or Duo with his band Seasons of Change and also for Alternative Country Album of the Year for 3 Minute Movies.
Fleshing out the musical line up are bluegrass legend and funnyman Pete Denahy, Sydney honky tonk rocker Ingrid Mae, sassy Victorian teen Kaitlyn Thomas, Paul Greene, Teak, and Hudson Rose with James Jackson.
Event organisers Bec Lavelle and Mathew Reynolds said they couldn't wait to help celebrate the community's resilience.
"It's our time to give back to the incredibly hard-working people of Roma and its surrounding communities," Ms Lavelle said.
"We want to start 2021 strongly by bringing some of the hottest music talent to the town to celebrate the hard work that everyone's been putting in throughout the last year."
Two other music festival scheduled for western Queensland in 2021 are Winton's Way out West Music Festival from April 6-11, and the sold-out Big Red Bash at Birdsville, taking place from July 6-8.
Tickets for the Road To Roma Festival are now available.
