The continuing dry conditions across the general supply area increased the supply of stock by 107 head to 464 at Monday's Toowoomba sale.
Buyer attendance was good with all the regular processors, feed and trade operators, plus local and interstate restockers active in the market.
All classes of young light weight cattle experienced strong support for the quality penned. Yearling steers and heifers to feed followed a similar trend. A relatively small selection of cows were in demand from processors.
Yearling steers under 200kg averaged 481c and made to 494c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg made to 500.2c, a fair sample averaging 459c/kg. Yearling steers to feed averaged from 424c to 438c with occasional sales to 452c/kg. A selection of medium weight D muscle yearling steers to feed averaged 332c and made to 390c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background made to 440c to average 435c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 408c to 424c, the occasional pen made to 442.2c/kg. Full mouth bullocks made to 340c, plain condition classes averaged 332c/kg.
Medium weight 3 score cows averaged 281c, and 4 scores made to 311.2c/kg. Good heavy weight cows averaged 313c and made to 318c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 352c/kg.
