A diverse range of bull buying options will be presented to commercial and stud beef producers attending the 13th annual Central Brangus Classic sale at CQLX, Gracemere on Friday, November 6 from 10am.
Sale committee member John Collins said 100 carefully selected bulls have been drafted by 17 studs, mainly situated in the Central Queensland region, for the 2020 sale.
"This year's selection of bulls are one of the finest line-ups catalogued in some time," Mr Collins said.
"They afford buyers a lot of scope in terms of choice. There are lower content bulls for those seeking to reduce the Brahman content of their herds as well as bulls showing a higher Brahman content," he said.
Mr Collins said the vendors selected their sale entries with a focus on marketable traits, temperament, structural soundness, fertility and basic conformation.
"Most, if not all the vendors, operate commercial programs as well as studs and as such have a deep understanding of breeding for commercial outcomes. Bulls catalogued for this sale would equally meet the needs of stud or commercial producers.
He said 50 per cent of the bulls on offer are registered with the Australian Brangus Cattle Association, while the remaining 50pc are selected herd bulls.
"The breeding behind these bulls are sourced from some of the finest genetics in Australia."
Mr Collins said the CBC sale is an unreserved sale, so potential buyers can bid in confidence knowing that the bull is on the market as soon as he enters the ring.
"Our buyers come from a wide range of geographic areas - including southern Qld, northern New South Wales and North Qld, however the majority of bulls remain local to CQ."
He said CQLX has formed a partnership with the online bidding platform Stocklive.
"This provides prospective bidders with the flexibility of attending the sale in person or to take advantage of the online platform and bidding from home."
He said a bull walk will be held on Thursday, November 5, from 4pm where potential buyers can inspect all the bulls catalogued for the sale.
"A supplementary sheet will be available at this time with details of age, weights, scanning results, semen tests and more."
