Two patients were airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane on Tuesday night following an abseiling fall in the Aramac district that left one person in a critical condition.
According to the Queensland Ambulance Service the accident occurred at a location off the Jericho Road at around 6.10pm.
The two patients were a man in his 40s with back and chest injuries, transported in a serious condition, and a female teenager with a back injury, who was in a stable condition.
Such was the serious nature of the accident that two Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) aircraft, from the Brisbane and Rockhampton bases, were tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland to Aramac.
An RFDS spokesman said due to the nature of the injuries, doctors were on board both aircraft.
