Meldon Park principals Lis and Rodney Skene were pleased with the results and said they strived to breed Simmental bulls for both commercial and stud operations suited to the widely varied climatic conditions in Queensland.
Meldon Park has a strong emphasis on producing fertile, structurally sound bulls which can add growth, softness and the ability to fatten at all ages and situations.
Auctioneer Mark Duthie, SBB/GDL, said it was a good solid sale with strong support coming from commercial buyers.
He said buyers were willing to pay for the top bulls, with plenty making $15,000 or higher.
Mr Duthie said there was a lot of support coming from central Queensland cattlemen, with the top price bull purchased online from a buyer in Bunbury, Western Australia.
