Moree-based Agristorage and Logistics has taken over the management of the Surat Grain Receival Site, which was formerly managed by AWB Cargill for the past 16 years.
According to Agristorage and Logistic's Peter Hobday, this latest depot is a good fit for their business.
"We are a smaller company and as such can be more about storage and flexibility for our traders," Mr Hobday said.
He said the company already looked after 11 grower sites in northern NSW and southern Queensland.
"The Surat depot is in very good condition and recently there has been two 300 tonne drive-off hoppers installed which has the capacity to receive up to 900 tonne/hour," Mr Hobday said.
"As well, there are new concrete bunker walls which has increased the site capacity from 80 to 10,000 tonnes."
Mr Hobday has extensive knowledge of the storage, handling, blending and fumigation of all cereal grains and pulses, plus the capability to logistically combine all these key components to maintain the total integrity of grain.
"Growers can deliver their grain to Agristorage and Logistics and we will store it for them until it is sold and then we execute delivery for them," he said.
Mr Hobday has been providing storage and logistic services to farmers since 2006.
