Sullivan Livestock yarded 1697 cattle at their Gympie cattle sale on Monday, where the market remained firm on recent sales.

Quality Charbray feeder steers from Neville and Lyndall Ensbey, Kandanga, topped at 398c ($1712 and $1710). Charbray steers from Helen Pratt, Chatsworth, made 393c ($1855). Droughtmaster cross steers from Carmody family, Imbil, made 380c ($1582).

Brangus cross steers from S and R Peters, Cinnabar, made 390c ($1479). Charbray cross steers from B and H Gill topped at 390c ($1581). Droughtmaster cross steers from C Stocks, Takura, made 392c ($1334). Charbray steers from B Lahiff, Kilkivan, made 414c to return $1330.

Simmental cross steers from RW Rural, Kenilworth, made 426c ($1257). Stephens and Co, Kilkivan, sold European cross weaner steers for 450c ($1118). Charolais cross weaner steers from Sevenbardot, Conondale, topped at 462c ($1089).

Droughtmaster steers from M Gear, Woolooga, made 456c ($1003). C and J Blanckensee, Kandanga, sold Droughtmaster steers for 446c ($901). Generally better quality weaner steers sold from 420c to 462c.

Charbray cross heifers from N and L Ensbey sold for 390c ($1551 and $1437). Brangus heifers from S and R Peters made 386c, $1394. Feeder heifers generally sold from 340c to 372c. Quality weaner heifers topped at 425c. Light weaner heifers sold to 458c.

Cows and calves topped at $1900 for Droughtmaster cows and calves from John Hinchliffe, Calico Creek.
