A good yarding of 319 head of cattle was sold today at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale. The market was firm to dearer for all descriptions of cattle. The cow market in particular was stronger.

John Chambers, Neurum, sold pens of Santa cows for $1480, $1390 and $1300, a Santa bull for $2250 and four to five-month-old Santa calves, with steers making $785 and heifers $740. Christine Rowe, Laceys Creek, sold Charolais cows for $1330.
Woodside Cattle Company, Winya, sold 15-month-old Droughtmaster steers for $1510 and $1330 and Droughtmaster steers, 12 months, for $1230. Haranel Pasture, Mt Mee, sold Droughtmaster cows for $1480 and $1310. Adam and Kerry Lees, Maleny, sold Limousin cows and heifers for $1470 and $1250. J and R Lowther, Jimna, sold a Brangus bull for $2000 and lines of eight to 10-month-old Brangus steers for $1135 and $940.
Tim Anderson, Stanmore, sold a line of Hereford steers for $1400. Droughtmaster cattle, 12 to 14 months, from Harlin, sold to strong competition, with steers making $1380 and heifers $1210. Vern and Kim Duncan, Mt Mee, sold Droughtmaster steers for $1210 and heifers for $1190. Kerry McKay, Kingscrub, sold 11 to 12-month-old Charolais cross steers for $1290.

Darcy Pratten, Mt Kilcoy, sold lines of Brangus calves, five months, with steers making $900 and heifers $825. ALB Pastoral, Kilcoy, sold five-month-old Brahman cross steers for $835.
