The bids were flying online and around the ring at the Palgrove Charolais and Ultrablack sale at Strathgarve, Dalveen, on Friday.
The stud set new record averages for both breeds, with the Charolais draft averaging $19,622 and the Ultrablacks averaging $16,727.
Charolais bull Palgrove Pioneer (P) (R/F) helped pave the way for the successful sale when he sold for $64,000 and set a new record top price for the stud. Pioneer was one of a number of bulls bought by the Bode family, McKinlay.
The records kept breaking throughout the sale, with Palgrove Primemover (P) attracting a truckload of bids and setting an Australian Ultrablack record top price, selling for $34,000.
More than 150 bidders registered for the sale, ensuring Palgrove bulls will be heading across Queensland and interstate in the coming days.
