It was a day for the history books when Waco Queenslander Q384 (PS) strode into the ring at Wallumbilla on Thursday.
Originally listed as lot 18 in the catalogue, Queenslander was moved up to first cab off the rank at the 61st annual Yarrawonga and Waco Santa Gertrudis sale.
Offered by David and Suzanne Bassingthwaighte, Waco Santa Gertrudis, Muldoon, Mungallala, the impressive sire set a breed record, selling for $110,000 to Rob and Lorraine Sinnamon, Yulgilbar Pastoral Company, Baryulgil, NSW.
Second-top priced bull Waco Q106 (P) was bought by Andrew and Fiona Bassingthwaighte, Yarrawonga Cattle Company, Wallumbilla, for $60,000.
Overall 165 classified bulls sold for a top of $110,000 and average of $11,942, with 12 commercial bulls sold for a top of $13,000 and average of $8417.
The atmosphere was electric throughout the sale with bulls sold throughout Queensland and NSW.
