BRAHMAN bulls sold to $12,000 to average $5598 in a 92 per cent clearance at the Select Sire sale at Woolooga on Saturday.
Sale topper was Gigoomgan Winchester, a 870kg dehorned red bull offered by Les, Felicity, Ewan and Kyrah Rockemer.
Winchester had a 138 square centimetre eye muscle area, 42cm scrotal measurement, and 11mm (P8) and 10mm (rib) fat measurements.
Buyer James Cochrane, Coles Creek, said the bull would be put across high grade Brahman females to produce replacement breeders.
Mr Cochrane - who also works with Burnett Livestock - said he was attracted to the well credentialed 33 month old because of its frame, skin and thickness.
"It's rare to be able to get all of the three factors all in the one animal," Mr Cochrane said.
The second top price of $11,500 was achieved twice.
The first was Carleesa 47, a horned 24 month old, which went to Rockemer Grazing, Brooweena. The 766kg grey offered by Russell and Estelle Aberdein, Carleesa Brahmans, Biggenden, had a 128sq cm EMA and a 39.5cm scrotal.
Glen Hills also paid $9500 for Rinroc Eli offered by Corinne Whip, Rinroc Brahmans, Gigoomgan. The 34 month old grey was by JDH Domino Manso.
The second $11,500 bull was Hunterway M Oakley - the final lot of the sale - offered by first time vendor Mitchell Hunter, Hunterway M Brahmans, Nanango. The 24 month old by Besanther Vale Mr Wayne (IVF) sold to Glen Hills Pastoral Company, Moore.
Boandilla Brahmans paid $10,500 for the horned grey bull Carleesa 2483. The milk tooth 23 month old had a 131sq cm EMA.
Bill and Sue Blakeney, Warraka Brahmans, Coondoo, sold the grey Warraka Ranger by NCC Skoda for $8500. The 21 month old went to Hobi Agricultural Trust, Running Creek, which took home three from the sale.
