CAMERON and Nicole Dyer's Marlborough district property Lexington at Ogmore has sold at auction for $1.885 million.
The well above reserve sale price paid by Scott and Sonya Jones, Bowen, is equal to about $2288/ha ($906/acre).
Located 120km from Rockhampton, Lexington covers 824 hectares (2080 acres) of freehold country and has an estimated carrying capacity of 350 adult equivalents.
Marketing agent Bill Hamilton, Ruralco Property, said two of the five registered bidders were active during the auction on July 16.
The property ranges from improved forest country to creek flats, with small amounts of melonhole, brigalow country. Some 85ha has been blade ploughed and 150ha stick raked.
There is also 60ha of ponded scrub country with para grass and hymenachne pastures.
Improved pastures and legumes including reclaimer Rhodes, bisset bluegrass, seca, verano and serato stylos in addition to natural forest grasses and black speargrass.
Lexington is fenced into three main paddocks and a large cooler with laneways to new steel cattle yards. The yards are equipped with a vet crush, calf cradle and undercover race.
There are three large dams and semi-permanent holes in the creek. The average annual rainfall is 890mm (35 inches).
