A top price of $10,000 and an overall average of $5662 left the O'Leary family of Remolea Poll Herefords, Clifton, smiling after their on property bull sale on Monday.
In all, 37 bulls sold from a cataloged 40, representing a 93 per cent clearance.
The sale topper was Remolea Pitch P014, a homozygous polled son of Callaway WRL Megatron M004 from the Remolea Marjorie female family.
At 26 months of age, the quality stud sire prospect weighted 888 kilograms, has an eye muscle area of 120 square centimetres, scrotal circumference of 40cm, and morphology of 78pc.
He was selected by Wesley Lowien, WRL Poll Herefords, Kaimkillenbun.
Mr Lowien, in partnership with Mark Duthie of Callaway Poll Hereford stud, bred Remolea Pitch's sire and WRL stud was keen to secure a son to join back to selected females.
A price tag of $9000 was achieved twice.
Montgomery Pastoral Co, Lyndhurst Park, Talwood, selected Remolea Pyramid P066 (P), a son of Russlynn Jack Flash from Remolea Lellan J64 (P).
Chris Kemp, Milparinka, Blackall, also paid the same money for Remolea Panther P064 (PP), a son of Bowen George G25 from and Remolea Marjorie female family.
In all, Mr Kemp was the volume buyer and finished with four bulls to average $6850, which are heading into his Santa Gertrudis crossbred herd on his Augathella-district property.
Mr Kemp's son Mitchell was also active and selected three bulls to average $4533 for his Jillambie property he has in partnership with his brother near St George.
Buying support was active from most parts of southern Queensland, Western Downs, Maranoa, and central western Queensland, and NSW.
The sale was also interfaced through Elite Livestock Auctions, registering 12 bidders, and was enjoyed by 76 viewers from Queensland, NSW, Tasmania and South Australia.
