An outstanding line-up of potential breeder heifers sold well above vendors' expectations. Feeder steers were in short supply but sold well. Backgrounders and weaners also sold to a dearer market.
Alder Constructions, Pimpama, sold Santa steers 2.5 years for $1730. Angus cross steers, 18 months, from the Koplick family, Veresdale, sold for $1290. Mark Torpy, Laravale, sold Droughtmaster steers 15 months for $1235. The Mills family, Beechmont, sold Droughtmaster steers 14 months for $1100.
Droughtmaster weaners steers a/c Ron Gehrke, Summerholm, sold for $1030. Stephanie Malmborg, Silverdale, sold Droughtmaster cross weaner steers for $870. Ross and Jo Oppermann, Maroon, sold Brahman cross weaner steers for $800.
Brahman weaner steers, a/c Ruhland and Daley, Mt. Alford, sold for $780. Droughtmaster heifers two years from Hills Family Trust, Chinghee Creek, sold for $1560. The O'Neill family, Mt. Oweenee, sent an outstanding line of 390 No. 8 and No. 9 Droughtmaster and Charolais cross heifers to top at $1560.
Dick and Kate Buckham, Tarome, sold No. 9 Charolais cross heifers for $1390. Droughtmaster heifers, 18 months, a/c Paul and Katie Newlove, Maroon, sold for $1200. Droughtmaster heifers, 14 months, from Macam Investments, Esk, sold for $1020.
McVilly and Pitts, Charlwood, sold Santa cows PTIC for $1715. Malabar Holdings, Palen Creek, sold Brahman cross cows for $1560. Paul and Katie Newlove sold a Droughtmaster bull for $3300.
