Values remained firm for the 1200 yarded in Murgon on Tuesday. The yarding consisted of 300 export, a limited number of feeders and the balance being younger weaner age cattle.
Bulls topped at 326c and $2550. Heavy cows over 500kg topped at 315c and $2450 averaging 273c. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to 283c for a 252c average. Lighter cows under 400kg topped at 240c. Export heifers sold to 339c and $1710.
Cattle were drawn from Biloela, Baffle Creek, Gayndah, Mt Perry, Biggenden, Durong, Nanango, Kingaroy, Kilkivan and locally.
A line of 402 Brangus steers from Wondai sold for $1562 at 388c. Charolais steers weighing 400kg sold for 383c to return $1539. Two pens of 4-tooth Gelbvieh steers from Johnstown sold for 366c, $1821 and 367c and $1663.
