Throughout hardship you can always count on the farming and agriculture sector to pull together to help each other out.
This was particularly apparent at a recent tractor auction which raised $145,000 in support of farmers facing hardship due to bushfires.
Donated by Kubtoa Australia, the two M126GX tractors were each valued in excess of $110,000, and were sold through an online auction conducted by Lloyd's Auctioneers and Valuers in February.
Lloyds chief marketing officer Brett Mudie said the auction attracted a whopping 683 bids.
"The team at Lloyds would like to thank everyone for their efforts in raising much needed funds in the charity auction," he said.
Media and advertising partner, Australian Community Media agricultural commercial director Craig Chapman said the result was a testament to how the agriculture sector could partner together to achieve outcomes.
"The two successful bidders were both farmers, one from near Perth and the other from Central Queensland," he said.
"The funds were distributed through the Country Women's Association, and we thank them for the invaluable work they do in supporting our rural communities," he said.
Kubota Australia zone manager for central Queensland Jon Neville said he recently delivered one of the tractors to Rolleston grower James Bishop.
"While the tractor was unloaded, I had a chat with James, who could not have been happier about winning the auction," he said.
"James owns several Kubota products, which gave him the confidence to buy at an online auction, these include his 27 year old trusty M8580 cab tractor which he does all his slashing with a Kubota excavator, Kubota zero turn mower and several Kubota horizontal engines on his pumps."
CWA national president Tanya Cameron congratulated Kubota Australia, Lloyds and ACM for their efforts.
"These events bring a diverse range of people and groups together with a shared goal in mind, engender their own sense of camaraderie and community spirit, which is borne out by the fantastic result," she said.
