PREDICTIONS of a dryer than normal March have proven correct with only limited falls expected in inland areas over the next eight days.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, accumulated falls of 10-15mm are shown for parts of South West Queensland and in places along the coastal strip.
The best of the falls are shown for an area roughly bounded by Thallon, Mitchell, Tambo and west of Charleville down to Cunnamulla and into NSW.
Showers or storms could occur over parts of southern Queensland this week caused by moderately unstable conditions due to the combination of an inland trough and upper trough.
BoM predicted on February 28 that large areas of Queensland, the Northern Territory and northern Western Australia were likely to be drier in March. There was a 60-70 per cent chance of drier conditions in Queensland and the NT, and up to 75pc chance in northern WA, BoM's climate outlook said.
Totals ranging from 10-25mm are shown for all of eastern NSW.
