A yarding 330 head at Miriam Vale on Friday saw the market ease on the last sale, this being a better quality yarding. Buyers came from Bundaberg, Biloela, Monto, and Calliope with strong local support.
Wayne and Sue Hennan, Gin Gin, sold quality Angus cross steers for $980. Raymond Petersen, Rosedale, sold No 9 Brahman cross steers for $910, while most of this age group sold from $750 to $870. Tony Barrett, Lowmead, sold Brahman cross steers for $960.
Craig McNab, Bororen, topped the weaner steer market for a pen of Droughtmaster no. 0 steers for $870. Most weaner steers sold for $500 to $650.
Wayne and Sue Heenan sold a quality pen of Angus cross heifers for $950. Norm Turner, Lowmead, sold Brahman cross heifers for $700. Lex and Gavin Cawthray sold a pen of Red Brangus cross heifers for $620. Most weaner heifers sold from $450 to $550.
The Callaghan family, Rosedale, sold young Red Brahman cows and calves for $1175 and their young Red Brahman cows of similar age sold for $850.
