Emerald Magpies had a win over Clermont in the Central Highlands Cricket Inc under 16 competition on Saturday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Clermont posted a total of 6/153 in their 28 overs.
Opener DA Eckhardt top scored on 57 not out from 41 balls, with C Mahoney also not out on 34.
Bowling for Magpies, R Harrold took two wickets for 17 from his four overs, while P Gale, C Baillie and P Wilson took one each.
In reply, Magpies scored 7/154, with R Harrold top scoring on 39 not out, P Gale making 32 not out and RA Pout scoring 26.
L Wardle did the damage for Clermont, taking three wickets for 29, while H Strike took two and C Mahoney and C Strike one each.
UNDER 13
In the Under 13 competition, Springsure were too strong for Magpies, scoring 0/110 in 13.1 overs in reply to Magpies' 7/105 in 17.4 overs.
L Geddes top scored for Magpies with 30, while C Killalea made 23no and R Killalea 25no.
Bowling for Springsure R Killalea had a day to remember taking four wickets for four runs off 1.3 overs.
