Nigel and Rosemary Brumpton and family of Mt Ascot Merino and Jolly Jumbuck Studs, Mitchell, are celebrating after recording a 100 per cent clearance for 120 rams at their on-property sale.
In the breakdown of the catalogue on Wednesday, Mt Ascot Stud offered 57 single rams selling to a top price of $5000 and averaged $2273.
The Jolly Jumbuck Stud, operated by Felicity, Charlie and Lachie Brumpton, offered 24 single rams, which topped at $3800 and averaged $1947.
A further run of 12 pens with three rams sold to average $1850.
Mr Brumpton said they were ecstatic with the overall sale result considering the seasonal conditions over the past six or so years.
"To think we postponed because of the drought, and rescheduled after receiving some rain, to achieve this it certainly was a good result," he said.
Mr Brumpton said the good sheep and wool prices along with the rain is what drove the solid sale result.
Selecting the top priced ram were Bob and Margaret Little, Waverley Downs, Cunnamulla. The Littles continued buying and finished with 36 rams for an average of $2544.
The buyer of the top priced Jolly Jumbuck polled ram was David Sisson, Guyra, NSW, pushing the ram to $3800.
Other volume buyers active included Harry Jarratt, Collarenebri, NSW, who finished with 12 rams, while Kemp and James Carson, South Muthong Grazing, Dirranbandi, bought 15 rams.
Koondi Grazing Co, Winton, finished the day with 10 rams, Harry and Susan Glasson, Yaraka, purchased 13 and the Alexander family, Barcaldine, bought nine.
