An outstanding draft of 91 grey and red Brahman heifers from the heart of some of Australia's leading herds will be offered at the 2020 Rocky All Stars Elite Brahman Female Sale on Saturday, March 21 from 11am, at CQLX, Gracemere.
Highly regarded Brahman studs including Bungarribee, El Ja, Elmo, Eureka Creek, Glengarry, Glen Oak, Halgenaes, Muan, Palmvale, Pioneer Park, Stockman, and Token, have selected 34 first-rate red heifers and 57 stylish grey heifers for this year's sale catalogue.
Sale agent Michael Smith, Elders Stud Stock Toowoomba, said he's very happy with how this year's catalogue has come together.
"There is a great mix of genetics in the 2020 sale draft, and I'm confident that all heifers selected for the catalogue will perform well in stud and commercial herds," Mr Smith said
"The sale is again being well supported by a number of long term vendors as well as debut vendors Roger, Sue and James Hayden, Glen Oak Brahmans," he said.
"It's a no nonsense sale with a group of vendors who are committed to improving the quality of the offering from one year to the next."
Mr Smith said he's optimistic for a solid sale result due to the turnaround for the better with the season over such a large area of the state, which he said has happened a little earlier this year compared to recent years.
"It's got the feel that this turnaround is going to continue with regular changes, featuring some very good rainfall totals, coming through in the weather."
Of the 77 heifers offered at last year's sale, 71 sold for a strong clearance of 92 per cent, at an average of $4824.
Matt and Josh Bishop of Garglen Brahman Stud, Gympie, made the sale high winning bid of $22,000 for grey heifer EL JA Vieanna E Manso (IVF) (D) on account of Les and Helen Donald of EL JA Brahman Stud, Red Range, Theodore.
The Gibbs Family, Muan Pastoral Co, Biggenden, topped the reds section last year with Muan Aruma 5583 (P) selling for $11,000 to Paul Lever, Leverdale Red Brahmans, Murray Upper.
Inspections of the sale lots are welcome from 3pm on the afternoon of Friday, March 20 at CQLX.
Those unable to attend the sale in person will be able to bid online through the Stocklive online auction platform.
"For users not yet registered with Stocklive it's strongly recommended that they do so a minimum of 24 hours prior to the sale commencing, to ensure you're approved for the start of the sale."
