With some big rainfalls recorded over the past week, a smaller yarding of 215 head were sold on Monday at Stariha Auctions Woodford cattle sale.
All descriptions were in high demand, with those vendors who could get their cattle in receiving excellent results.
Sommer Brothers, Maleny, sold a pen of AIS cows for $1565 and dairy cows for $1310. John Chambers, Neurum, sold pens of Santa cows for $1610 and $1565, pens of Santa store cows for $1245-$1050 and four to five-month-old calves, with pens of males and heifers making $630 and $580.
FLM Rural, Bellmere, sold Charbray heifers for $1500. T and A Doyle, Wamuran, sold a Brangus cow for $1570. Ken Klein, Cedarton, sold Droughtmaster cows and calves for $1460.
Erinbella Kopittke, Woodford, sold 20-month-old Droughtmaster steers for $1380. W and G Hanton and B and J Schneider, Kilcoy, sold 12-month-old Charolais cross steers for $1040.
Peter Simpson, Woodford, sold lines of six to seven-month-old Charbray steers for $840 and $900 and a line of five-month-old Charbray heifer calves for $700.
ALB Pastoral, Woolmar, sold lines of weaner store heifers, with Droughtmasters making $720, Brahmans $655 and Brangus $615.
Charles Summers, Conondale, sold Brahman yearling males for $1005. Janelle Hansen, Stanmore, sold six to seven-month-old Charbray calves, with males making $770 and heifers $690.
